The Smart Fortwo car is the tiniest car available for sale in the US.Â The Smart car is just under 1800 lbs. and significantly smaller than a Mini Cooper – by nearly 700 pounds. This even created a new vehicle classification: Microcar.

Many people believe this is simply a rolling coffin. However, the Smart car received the highest ratings possible for side and front impact protection from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety tests.

High demand is still creating waiting lists and even excessive dealer markups. Used Smart Cars can be located easily and at a significant discount to a new model.
